So how and when am I supposed to catch them?

The first step is to go to your resident services building and go up to the Abd and select redeem nook miles then redeem 2,000 nook miles for a nook miles ticket. Before you go to the airport drop all your items except for 2 new nets, 2 new axes,2 new shovels and your nook miles ticket. Go into your airport and say and select “I want to fly to Orville” then select use nook miles tickets.
When you get to the island make sure there are no cliffs because cliffs make it harder. If it is raining it is better because rain increases spawn rates which makes the process much easier. Then clear the island. First you need to break all the rocks, so eat a fruit, get your shovel out and hit the rocks, then they will break. Next, chop all the trees down and dig up the stumps. Finally, pick all the flower buds and pick up everything and dump it all on the beach. Do not dig up the flowers, just pick the buds. Now you can dig traps, first stand on the ground and dig holes around you. Then get your net out and scare bugs that are not tarantulas or scorpions.
When you see a tarantula or a scorpion, do not panic. I repeat do not panic.
Although they will bite.
There are two methods of catching them. One method is to sneak up on them. Another method is to scare them and then run into your trap. If the trap is done correctly, it will not let the tarantula or scorpion bite you.

Do not sell your catches in the drop off box it takes away 2,000 bells from the 8,000 you should be getting.
YES, you can sell them at the nooks but if you are patient wait for Flick as he pays more.
